Although I wanted to become a social worker, destiny had different plans for me. I was slowly becoming torn between taking care of my elderly parents versus obtaining my master's degree and working part-time. I attempted to switch my major from social work to human rights just to finally graduate with a master's degree this year but it wasn't as easy as it seemed. One should be able to enjoy studying a specific field in order to complete it because when life become challenging, you want to give up on everything. Studying something you love shouldn't deter you from your main goal, though.
Hence, I decided to pursue a career in the healthcare field in which I can learn and study at home while taking care of my mom and ultimately, work from home, also. My therapist thought I was avoiding people, but no, if I could work in person, I would love to do it because I like socializing with others. Being at work in-person while worrying about my mom is not helpful. If my dad had not passed away, I would've stayed pursuing a field I wasn't interested in. So, everything happens for a reason.
